Spring!

Spring has arrived in our new home and it reminds me of where I grew up in Washington state. Much warmer than in Idaho and fluctuating. So we will be posting images of us outside much more often. (I hope....)

Things 1 and 2 received an Easter package from Grandma and we opened it and allowed them to eat some of their treats. Well, after Thing 2 got his chocolate bunny, he disappeared. Knowing he hadn't gone out the front door, we started teasing we were going to find him. I heard him giggle in my room, and looked all over. I finally got down on my hands and knees and looked under the bed and found this.

Realizing he had been caught, he broke into a smile and laughter. It was a lot of chocolate he had consumed, so we pulled him out and washed that sweet little face off... and unfortunately took the last little bit of chocolate away. He wasn't so sweet when we took the chocolate away!

We didn't do an actual Easter egg hunt and I don't remember why, but we did one around the apartment. Something simple and easy. Then we colored eggs a few days later. The boys had fun no matter that we missed doing it the day before Easter.

They were "patiently" waiting for their eggs to be colored.

Thing 2 absolutely loved coloring the eggs with his crayons.

Thing 1 worked really hard on his eggs too.  And was doing his best to be patient.

The eggs that the boys colored with their crayons, and dyes.  I did get to color and decorate one egg, but I did have orders on how to decorate. Like the Yellow Angry Bird.

Idaho Skiing

It's funny that the only time we seem to get to go skiing is when we go visit family in Idaho now. Thing 2 or someone else has a tendency to come down sick so that we can't go on the day that we're supposed to go. Fridays are the best day for us to go because then we're not tired for Sunday and we free up our babysitters. Thing 1 is getting so good at skiing and is confident as soon as he hops on his skis.

Aunty S is a ski instructor up to Kelly Canyon and we were so excited to go with her! Unca C was up to go to, but was the oddball because he's the only snowboarder with us. We were worried about him liking to go with us because he prefers a pair of skis with a motor on top. He tried snowboarding one night, was a natural and was hooked. We'll forgive him for being a snowboarder though :) Love ya Unca C! There were a lot of snowball  fights that day as we worked our way down the trails. Aunty S was merciless to Unca C, but I think he usually had it coming!

Everybody in our group, starting with Thing 1, Daddy, Aunty S, and way up in front, Unca C.

We love skiing! Okay, and snowboarding!

Aunty S got quite the workout on one of the cat track trails. Chugga chugga choo choo!

Gotta love the staff at Kelly Canyon!

Aunty S worked a little with Thing 1 on a few basic things to help improve his skiing. She's pretty good at going down backwards.

Aunty S took the camera from me so that I could be in some of the shots, and right after she did she had stopped to take some pictures of us coming down the hill. Daddy started showing off and crashed! It thought Aunty S caught a pretty good action shot even though she wasn't ready for it!

My little skiing family. We're so excited to have Thing 2 join us next season!

Thing 1 didn't realize he was going into some deep heavy snow off to the side, and totally timbered! The tips of his skis caught and he face planted it! When he finally lifted his head, he grinned and in his goofy voice said, "Let's do that again!"

It was a good way to end the day!

Gestures of Love

I had every intention of posting a lot more in February because I finally feeling better, well, that kind of went downhill again. So I am for sure 100% better now and will hopefully be back up to speed on posting again. After two doctor appointments I found out with my second doctor that he thought it could be a micro-plasma bacteria which apparently can hang on for a very long time; or it could have been a strain of Bronchitis. The doctor prescribed some antibiotics and by the end of the week I was talking normal and the cough had almost subsided! Yay to feeling better!

So for February I was trying to recognize gestures of love amongst my family. I thought it was an appropriate time of the year with Valentine's Day and all. My goal was to notice it, not necessarily photograph it, but I was able to get a few images.

Thing 2 Loves to cuddle with Daddy first thing in the morning. Sometimes it's a lot earlier than we would like, but we'll take what comes our way.

Time for a horsey ride!

When Thing 2 gets tired, sometimes I turn on a movie to finish get a few things done and then put him down for nap. They love cuddling with each other.

These two pictures are of our Valentine's Day breakfast and dinner. We had pink heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, and Thing 1 was very excited about it.

Dinner was stuffed jumbo shells, salad, garlic bread and frozen fruit salad. It was delicious!

This was dessert, chocolate cover strawberries. White chocolate and milk chocolate. The boys devoured them. Poor Daddy came down with a bug of some sort and wasn't feeling well, do he wasn't able to enjoy our dessert.

Grandpa came to visit for two nights. Just the nights because he was picking up some equipment here in Utah to take back to Washington and it took all day to load the trucks. Grandpa was excited to play iPad Battleship with Thing 1. Thing 1 beat Grandpa and loved explaining some of the different rules to him.

Thing 2 loved Grandpa's boots, as well as sharing Cut the Rope's Om Nom adventure's with Grandpa. The cartoons are Thing 2's favorite thing to do on the iPad.

And of course, more cuddling with Daddy!

We hope you're Valentine's month was a full of love as ours was!

Christmas! AND We sold our house!!!!!

Here are just a few images from our Christmas in Idaho. We spent time with both families. Being overwhelmed with so many people with Mommy's side of the family I didn't get any pictures of it. Here was Christmas morning with Daddy's family. I made our boys some fun hats for Christmas and they love them.

The grandsons all in their Christmas pajamas and their sleds from their aunt and uncle.

Thing 2 enjoyed his new cup, pajamas and hat after presents had been opened.

I have some exciting news! We sold our house last week!!! It has been such a relief to finally have that burden off of our shoulders! After over a month of frustrations with real estate "stuff", we signed papers on January 28th. After five months of being on the market and without anyone living in it since mid-October we are able to move on and look ahead instead of over our shoulder and being bound. We know the new owners, let me rephrase that. Daddy knows the husband. They worked together at Daddy's former job. Knowing that the wife is excited about our hard work and my garden made it a little bit easier to let it go. Do I miss it? Yes. I miss that neighbors, friends and family we had the ability and opportunity to get to know and love. I miss the wide open spaces, our lovely one acre that we were working on improving and adding to help our growing family. The boys miss the room to play in the house as well as the ability to go outside without Mommy having to be there all the time. We are anxious because we're unsure of what our future holds, but excited because we have opportunities and faith that it will turn out for the best and the best for our boys.

P.S. The boys are finally well and I may be just about over my croup and laryngitis so wish us luck! Until next time. Which will hopefully be soon!
